I have a copy of this book that I believe to be a true first edition, however, the points of issue aren't exactly the same. The cover has the same art work by Kimuko Y. Craft, but the publishing page doesn't look exactly the same. It was published by Delacourt Press, Bantam Doubleday Dell Publishing Group, Inc, in New York and has a copyright year of 1991, by Diana Gabaldon, but no month of issue. Also, there is no ISBN number anywhere on the book or dust jacket. There is only a small number in white (18200) on the back of the dust jacket. Please advise me as to your thoughts on this matter. If you are interested in investigating this further I will send pictures of the publishing page and dust jacket.
Thank you, Candice Jolgen

Sounds like you have a book club edition. Is there a price listed on the front dust jacket flap?

No price is listed anywhere on the book, nor does it state that it is a book club edition as I have seen with other books which are book club editions. Also, there is no number line present on the publishing page.

I think you probably have a book club edition, especially if it doesn't have a price.

Candice, I have the identical book as you do. I was curious after having lent the book to a friend - once she returned it, it suddenly occurred to me that it very well could be a First Edition, hence, have been doing a little research and came across your question. It may be that it was purchased in Canada; what do you think? I bought mine for $1 at a used book sale, so if we are lucky enough to have a F E, then that is marvelous! Let me know if you have found out anything further. Thx.
