FIRST EDITION is stated on the copyright page, and 1955 is stated on the title page. Boards are light gray with maroon lettering on a yellow cloth spine. Top stain is red. Dust jacket has a photo of the author on the front, with the decription - "Nine stories by a young author who has a joy in writing and a rare vitality. Back of dust jacket has just a single review by Harriette Simpson Arnow, author of The Dollmaker.
