The first edition was limited to 800 signed and numbered copies. Many (but not all) copies were signed by both the artist, Henry Major, and the caption writer, Bugs Baer. Some copies were signed but not numbered. The book is covered in brown cloth with burlap spine and corners, and was issued without a dust jacket.

The lithographs were drawn by artist Henry Major with captions by columnist and cartoonist Arthur Bugs Baer. Caricatures include Gracie Allen (and George Burns), Don Ameche, Fred Astaire, Edgar Bergen, Humphrey Bogart, James Cagney, Charley Chaplin, Ronald Colman, Gary Cooper, Joan Crawford, Bing Crosby, Bette Davis, Marlene Dietrich, Walt Disney, Jimmy Durante, Buddy Ebsen, Errol Flynn, Henry Fonda, Clark Gable, Greta Garbo, Judy Garland, Cary Grant, Helen Hayes, Katherine Hepburn, Al Jolson, Boris Karloff, Carol Lombard, Peter Lorre, Fred MacMurray, Edward G. Robinson, Mickey Rooney, Jimmy Stewart, Shirley Temple, Spencer Tracy, Robert Young, and May West.
