The Canadian first edition has a full number line 1 2 3 4 5 97 96 95 93 on the copyright page. Binding is hunter green cloth with gold lettering on the spine. There are no reviews anywhere on the dust jacket.

Because the author is Canadian, the Canadian editions of her books are generally the most collectible. However, the copyright page on this novel explicitly states that it was published simultaneously in the United States (by Nan A. Talese), and in the United Kingdom (by Bloomsbury). There was a signed edition of the UK edition which was limited to 150 copies. The boards on this edition are marbled with a cloth spine. There was also a Franklin signed first edition in the US, which could be consider the true first edition.
