The copyright page states "Published May, 1936" with no other printing statements. Books that say "Published June, 1936" are second printings. Back of dust jacket lists books offered by the publisher. On the first printing dust jacket, "GONE WITH THE WIND" is in the right column. In the next printing "GONE WITH THE WIND" was moved to the very top of the left column. After that, the dust jacket back contains reviews of the book.

After the author's death, the estate of Margaret Mitchell sanctioned Alexandra Ripley to write the official sequel which was published as Scarlett in 1991.

Gone with the Wind won the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction. This book is also one of Time Magazine's 100 Best Novels. Other Time 100 Novels include The Bridge of San Luis Rey and The Grapes of Wrath

warner books,inc:first printing sept 1991,scarlett:the sequel to margaret michell's gone with the wind/by alexander ripley;book design,giorgetta bell mc ree. how many editions,and was it warner books that was sued?

Warner Books was not sued. They were the publishers of Scarlett, and the estate of Margaret Mitchell picked Ripley to write the sequel.

Hi, i found Gone with the Wind written by Margaret Mitchell, my book has no jacket or publication pages, but all the chapters are there. How do I find out when my book was published?
